THERAPY FOR INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, AND COUPLES

OUR SERVICES

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual therapy is a process in which you meet one-on-one with a therapist in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. Depending on your goals and circumstances, with a trained therapist you may explore beliefs, feelings, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, better understand yourself and others, and set and work toward personal goals for desired changes.

FAMILY THERAPY

You and willing/able family members meet with a trained therapist to identify specific areas of conflict and/or aspects of your relationship you would like to change. You then develop a plan to improve to each individual’s satisfaction. The therapist may help the family address any immediate problems, as well as develop strategies for protecting and enhancing the long-term health and happiness of your relationship.

COUPLES THERAPY

You and another person (you can be engaged, married, dating, or partnered) meet with a therapist to help recognize and resolve conflicts and learn healthy relationship principles and skills. It can help with: communication problems, conflicts about child rearing or blended families, substance abuse, anger, and infidelity. It can bring greater understanding of one another and improve relationship quality.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In general, we help people heal, grow, and move toward more happy, productive lives. Everyone comes with a unique history and hopes to get something different out of meeting with us. In the first meeting especially, but also throughout therapy sessions, we are intent on listening to what your goals and expectations are for therapy. Depending on your needs, objectives, and progress, we adjust the frequency and duration of therapy. Many concerns are resolved with short-term therapy, and other chronic or more complex concerns require a long-term commitment before improvement is seen. Ultimately the number of sessions is determined by the family’s situation and the therapist’s recommendation.
